Tapout picks up where Knockout, by J.C. Valente left off. It can be read as a stand alone, but I would suggest you start with Knockout, so you too can full enjoy the experience of the journey that brings Jami and Alyson together.

Jami was in the ring again, fighting, which was his career choice, and Alyson learned to accept, she couldn't however watch while the fight was going on, and was sitting with her friend Olivia, covering her eyes. She was telling her how Jami was doing, but Alyson couldn't take it anymore, and decided to look for herself. Though this wasn't the kind of sport that Alyson would want to attend or watch on television, she loved Jami, and was there for him, for moral support. When Alyson finally looked up it was to see that Jami had dislocated his opponents arm,a trick his coach Don, had taught him. Everything Olivia told her was true, Jami won the fight!

The only thing that shadowed the happiness that Alyson was feeling for Jami's win, was the fact that Olivia had broke off with her boyfriend Spence, a few nights ago. If it wasn't for Olivia's love for this sport, and Spence who picked out Olivia and Alyson to meet Jami, after the first fight they attended, Jami and Alyson may never have found each other again. Spence worked for Jami, as part of his crew, and also booked parties victory parties after Jami's matches. Tonight was no different, and there would be another party.

After being attended to for a few minor cuts, and bruises Jami was ready for the party. His coach, Don, told him to go easy with the drinking because he had an early day of practice in the morning. Don went as far as to tell Alyson to watch him, which was surprising because he never showed any real interest in Alyson, as a matter of fact, he seemed downright hostile at times, but she agreed she would watch out for him, and then they were off to the party. She tried to keep Jami sober, but Spence kept pouring the tequila and Jami kept drinking it, after counting to his third drink, Alyson lost count of how many drinks he had, after two and a half hours. Olivia went home early, not wanting to be in the same room as Spence for too long, so Alyson was left alone to deal with a drunken Jami. She finally persuaded him to at least go up to his bedroom in the suite that Spence had rented for the party, which was a penthouse, with two floors. Once in the bedroom, Jami told her that he was leaving for a week to go to Nevada, and he was leaving on Friday which was just three days away.

Once in Nevada, Spence was gone for hours after the plane landed, and this had Jami, Don, and his crew worried. They had called the local hospitals in the area, to see if there were any car accident victims that fit Spence's description, there were none. When Spence finally arrived, Jami watched closely as he and Don began to fight. Jami finally intervened and through everyone out of the room, except for Spence, Jami could tell he was doing some kind of drugs, but there was also something underlining the reason for him doing it. He questioned Spence about his break up with Olivia, and then got to the bottom of it, and the real reason both shocked and angered Jami. Spence was doing business with a loan shark, and he was now in dept to the loan shark, for $25,000.

Could Jami help his friend, who was more like a brother to him, for many years, keep his career, and the woman he loved? Could he even keep this news out of the newspapers, and gossip columns? If push came to shove, would he even be able to survive a confrontation with the loan shark?

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did, and also don't forget to start with Knockout, I promise you that you will be glad you did! Happy reading!

Tapout New Adult Fighter Romance Wayward Fighters Book 2 eBook JC Valentine Rogena MitchellJones Reviews

Both of these characters met when they were children. Ally suffered greatly at the hands of her father and Jami was always close by to run in and protect her. Ally never forgot about her protector and her love for him. So when she saw him again for the first time her love skyrocketed. Jami acted like the tough guy not wanting to fall in love, no relationships, just sex but OMG that didn't last long. He was such a CAVEMAN and a BEAST in the bedroom or any other place he could strip Ally down. This book had a lot of twists and turns, friendships that turned ugly, enemies that came out of the closet. Kept me up late at night trying to finish it. I was very disappointed with Spencer but he did have an addiction, was glad he got help. The bet that Marco and Tony made had me floored, but the bad guys always get slammed in the end. Have a great happily ever after Jami and Ally.
Tapout Book #2 in the series.. and wow! It's awesome!

This book ties in the sweet love story of two very broken people with the struggles that go hand in hand with staying loyal to life long friends. Do you choose sides? Do you always have their back, even if it could mean the worst for you? What happens if the person(s) that mean the most to you are lying to you?

There is so much suspense and excitement in this book. Even though I read the series out of order and knew the basics as to what was going to happen.. I honestly had NO IDEA how it was going to happen until it went down. The characters are so complex and so many different relationships make this story a tangled mess of emotions pulling you in all directions. I literally cried, laughed, awwed and felt the need to nail bite.

I highly recommend this series!

First & foremost THANK YOU AGAIN J.C. Valentine D D D
I absolutely loved this book, Jami & Aly have gone through so much together, their past and even in the present.
getting to see more to them both wether together or not was exactly what I was hoping for and you fully delivered!
This book has all the right elements as did the first. Jami, Aly & the people they surround themselves in the book were the best to read about, they all uniquely different but all fit together so perfect. The story itself was edgy and different to most books I've read and its refreshing.
This book and the first had me on the edge of where ever I was seated while reading them, I couldn't put it down not even to eat lol.
So to really sum this up!. I Highly recommend this book & the first to all avid readers out there!!..
I hardly come across good books but when I do I love to rave about them as much as I can )

So Thanks again J.C. Valentine

(p.s can I please have more of Jami & Aly hehe)
I'm not a fan of 3rd person writing but this one did a great job of pulling me in. I'm having a hard time seeing that Tapout was written by the same author as Knockout (wasn't a huge fan). This one had way more emotional connection. The writer needs to pull you in and make you feel the emotion. Needed to make you cry or laugh or sigh. This one was on mark. You need to read Knockout in order to "get" this book. Neither are a standalone. Or I'd recommend just reading this one. As writing goes I'm hoping that unDefeated is even better. Though I really hate Spencer. I hope he turns me or I will hunt him down. Jami and Ally shouldn't have to put up with him. They deserve better.
