This is one of my favorite series and the new installment is very suspenseful. One of Ryan’s members is again in trouble, an old villain gets a lesson and Mac is just as awesome. But it’s a standoff with a bomber, with many lives at stake that made my heart jump.

the first 131 pages on the right hand side of this book have a printing error the print sifted and the first 5 digits on the right pages are not there or blurred so you get to guess what it says. is replacing the book but I wondered if others have a copy like this. Never seen this is any book ever.
If I knew the area, the threat to the bridges would be even more interesting. Straight forward detective work along with common sense and a sixth sense save some lives, but not all the bridges. When a ransom demand comes, should the town be allowed to collect money to pay it... even if the primary rule of authorities is to never pay a ransom?
Another great police thriller from LJ Ross. The story reads easily and develops well to its conclusion. The characters, as usual, are natural and believable. Stories that are set in familiar surroundings, like the bridges of Newcastle, are an absolute winner!
I started with Book 1 and kept on reading. I keep checking back to see if there is another one published. This series is excellent and the character development is wonderful. I started reading in order and I would recommend that method to anyone interested in a good crime mystery series. I find the writing very imaginative as I can picture the places in my head. Please publish Book 9 soon.
I liked this book as much as all the others in this series. Since we haven't found the criminal who got away in the book before this one, and since the two officers haven't gotten married yet, I am assuming that we won't be left without another book. These characters have become my friends, and I can't wait for the next in the series. Please keep writing.
I really enjoy the author's writing, she does a great job of making the characters believable, of course I like reading about the Northeast of England, although it's been many years since I was there, I did find the conclusion a bit of a let down, a bit anticlimactic , but don't want to give anything away for other readers.
This is another great detective story by L. J. Ross and it is well worth reading. Thoroughly enjoyable with quirky twists and a wonderful accolade to that leading lady of crime fiction who had to go to 17 different publishers, I believe, before Agatha Christie finally got accepted. Her tradition continues with L. J. Ross and the intricacies of her plots, her interesting characters and of course, the ubiquitous red herrings. I did get confused over the numerous bridges and their proximity to each other, not being a local, and would have loved a brief map or sketch to help in the understanding and thus the reading of the book.
